Therapy: A Personal Investment

Therapy is an investment in your well-being. It involves dedicating time and resources to education, skill development, and self-discovery. By exploring your experiences and understanding the impact of trauma on your life, you take a crucial step toward healing. The ultimate goal of therapy is not to keep you in treatment indefinitely, but to equip you with the tools to live a fulfilling life independent of therapeutic support. Remember, your mental health is as vital as your physical and spiritual health.

Insurance

Each therapist at Irimiya Trauma Therapy, Inc. is contracted with different insurance companies. Full payment for service is required at the beginning of each session. Please discuss any changes in financial situation with your therapist that arise through the course of treatment.

We are in-network with the following insurances:

  • Gold Coast Healthcare Plan (Carelon)

  • United Healthcare / Optum / UMR

  • Ventura County Healthcare Plan

  • Aetna (licensed therapists only)

  • California Victims Compensation Board (Victims of Crime)

Before your visit it is important that we check your eligibility and benefits. This allows us to verify your copay and if you have a deductible to meet. When you email us or call us, please have your insurance card ready to provide your member ID and group number.

Forms of Payment

We accept Zelle, Venmo, HAS (Health Savings Account), Credit/Debit Card and Cash. We do NOT accept checks.

Out-of-network Insurance

If we do not accept your insurance, you can still receive therapy from our practice through your PPO “out of network” benefits. Our staff can provide you with a document called a Superbill. If you have a PPO insurance, you MAY be able to submit the Superbill to your PPO insurance and they MAY reimburse you for the amount or partial amount you paid for therapy. This is called an “out of network” benefit. You can check with your insurance company before to see if you have “out of network” benefits.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.  For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
