My name is Abigail but you can call me Abby. We all have a story and you get to decide if you want to share your story. I'm here to listen. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, offering support for individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including sexual trauma, childhood abuse, interpersonal violence, grief, accidents, and other distressing life events. My approach is grounded in empathy, trust, and a deep understanding of the lasting effects trauma can have on both the mind and body.

Trauma can leave invisible scars, affecting our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and overall well-being. Through our work together, I aim to help you reclaim your sense of safety, rebuild your emotional resilience, and begin to heal. I believe that healing from trauma is not only possible but also a process of rediscovery—of your strength, inner peace, and capacity for joy.

I utilize a trauma-sensitive, compassionate approach that prioritizes your emotional safety, autonomy, and healing. Trauma can affect the nervous system and create patterns that are difficult to break without support, so my goal is to help you feel grounded and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. Together, we will explore the ways trauma has impacted your life, and work towards healing through a combination of evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and somatic practices (parts work) to help release stored emotions and tension in the body.

Our work together is centered on fostering a safe and supportive space, where you can process painful memories, break cycles of fear or avoidance, and learn how to cope with triggers. I also believe in the power of building resilience and self-compassion, so you can learn to manage your emotions more effectively and navigate the world with a sense of empowerment.

I am deeply committed to supporting people on their journey of healing from trauma because I understand how transformative and life-changing this process can be. I have witnessed the incredible strength and courage it takes to face past wounds, and I believe that everyone deserves a chance to heal and find peace. My goal is to help you reconnect with your inner self, regain trust in yourself and others, and embrace a life full of possibility and hope.

Take a moment to just breathe and know that I am here with you.

  • Abby is a Bilingual Clinician that utilizes somatic-based techniques, narrative therapy, IFS, EMDR, trauma-focused CBT and art therapy strategies to aid her clients in their healing journey.

Abby has worked closely with many adolescents and Spanish-speaking clients that have a history of trauma and struggle with symptoms of PTSD. As a Hispanic therapist, Abby shares a passion to work with Spanish-speaking clients and offer therapy in Spanish as this is an underserved yet high-need population in Ventura County. Abby hopes to destigmatize receiving mental health services for the Hispanic population.

Abby worked passionately with adolescents at Nordhoff High School during her traineeship and internship. She dedicated her clinical skills at the school’s wellness center where she helped facilitate group therapy and activities for middle schoolers. Abby will utilize artistic interventions that include different forms of art and music that can help adolescents explore and express their emotions.

Abby worked at Help of Ojai where she conducted intake interviews to assess client needs and make appropriate referrals. She aided in providing immediate and long-term help to low-income families, individuals and older adults that resided in the Ojai Valley.
